Meet John Ashton, Founder of Baths Plus

Thank you for visiting the Baths Plus web site and for your interest in our Interior Remodeling Company. Baths Plus has taken great pride in offering a full service remodeling experience since 1989.

I am John Ashton, I was raised in Tulsa and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. My education is of the Fine Arts, Schooled at University of Cincinnati, CCM, and New York State Theatre. I have toured a lot of the USA and Europe. I settled in Cincinnati for good in 2005. After school and touring I went to work selling lighting at the Lighthouse. I then moved on to selling office furniture, bedding and home furniture at Swallens. As I was always doing some remodeling on the side, I learned techniques and code in electric, plumbing, carpentry.

Other than Bathrooms and Kitchens, I have completely remodeled homes in the Pendleton, Clifton, Hyde Park, Mt Lookout, Villa Hills and Anderson, the last being the Home I live in now. Asking most Kitchen companies they will rather do a kitchen than a bath because they make more money in a kitchen. I new I could come up with a plan to make that not so true.

When I realized that I could not do this forever, I hung up my tool belt. That was in 2003 at which time I thought it best to get some good Installers, a showroom and start selling. Well it just isn’t that simple. I learned like a lot of homeowners that there are a lot of wannabee’s out there. I started thinking how best to teach what it is I want in an installer. That’s where NARI comes in. I like the NARI certification courses and what they offered. For the guy’s that had not been in the business for very long I started, “Twelve Nights” , Shakespeare said “Some are born into greatness, some achieve greatness and some it is merely thrust upon!” In this course we discuss remodeling from the bottom up, each night another step or two. This has proven to be a great way to help bridge the gap.

I like to say that, "it's easier ask a dumb question than it is to fix an ignorant answer!"
